I first met Abdallah Ibrahim Yare in Dadaab complex, home to 500,000 refugees, two years ago at the height of the famine in Somalia. He and his family, along with thousands of others, had trekked for days to Kenya in search of food and safety. more »

At 23, Hamid was in medical school in Canada when war broke out in Syria. Today, he’s a veteran of frontline medicine. He returned to Syria when the war begin and now works at an IRC-supported field hospital in Aleppo. more »
