Congo conflict in pictures
My IRC colleague Peter Biro recently traveled through eastern Democratic Republic of Congo -- one of the most volatile areas in Africa -- where a staggering 1.8 million people are believed to be displaced. He took some stunning photos -- not to be missed. Right now, Peter's in Central African Republic where he's tweeting as he can. You can follow his updates at www.twitter.com/theIRC

I am from DRC and lived in Kisangani all my entire life but left Kisangani when the rebellion became more violent in my city in June 2000 between rwandese & ugandese soldiers.
I am so grateful of IRC who stayed there to help the people who couldn't afford to leave the city. I am looking to go back home to help people out there.
