According to Shannon Meehan, the International Rescue Committee’s Brussels-based director of advocacy, it’s easier to effect change than most people think. The smallest gift or effort goes a long way toward saving lives. Shannon shares a moving story about a group of Darfuri women who took a stand against rape. Experiences such as these fuel Shannon’s passion for her advocacy work. For Shannon, advocacy “isn’t a career, but actually a calling.”
