How to make last-minute charitable gifts to the IRC for 2012

UPDATE — December 31, 2012: Before you count down the final seconds of 2012, you should know that we are counting on you. Families escaping persecution and conflict are counting on you, too. Your gift to the International Rescue Committee can make a remarkable difference.
We are less than $113,000 away from making our $2.1 million match. Please make your tax-deductible year-end contribution to the IRC before midnight tonight.
Ways to make tax-deductible charitable donations for 2012
Thank you for your interest in supporting the humanitarian work of the International Rescue Committee (IRC). If you would like to make a tax-deductible charitable donation before the end of 2012, you may do so online, by mail, by phone, or by making a gift of stock or mutual funds:
Online

To make a 2012 gift online, please visit Rescue.org/donate/double-your-impact.
You may also purchase IRC Rescue Gifts and send e-cards to honor your loved ones by visiting the IRC Rescue Gifts catalog at Rescue.org/gifts.
Your online gift must be completed no later than midnight EST on Monday, December 31 for 2012 tax purposes.
After you submit your credit card information online, you will receive an automatic e-mail acknowledgement from the IRC (IRCupdates@Rescue.org). Please print this message and retain it as an official receipt of your online gift.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Stock
To make a gift of stock, please contact Brian Ringo, IRC donor services and operations manager (+ 1 212 551 2925 or Brian.Ringo@Rescue.org), to obtain transfer instructions. We must be notified by 4pm EST on Friday, December 28 in order to provide you with instructions in time to affect the transfer by the close of trading on December 31.
Please be sure to notify the IRC of your gift of stock so we can identify your gift and rapidly send you a receipt for tax purposes. Please note that gifts of stock which cannot be directly attributed to an individual will be returned. Also note, our transfer instructions changed during 2012; please verify your information prior to sending an order through.
Mutual Funds
To transfer shares of a mutual fund, please contact Brian Ringo (+ 1 212 551 2925 or Brian.Ringo@Rescue.org) by 4pm EST on Wednesday, December 19. Because of the complex nature of mutual fund transfers, we have an earlier processing deadline for gifts of this type.
