NYC: Full House [Photos]

Follow the odyssey of Bhutanese refugees Chet Nath, his wife, Uma, and their five-year-old son, Kushal, as they begin their new life in New York City, following 17 years living in exile in Nepal. (View Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8Part 9 and Part 10) International Rescue Committee volunteer Misha Cohen has been documenting the family’s journey as they learn to navigate their new home. On June 5th Chet Nath’s younger brother Mona Rath, with his wife Pabitra and daughter Pratiksha, finally arrived from Nepal. Now Chet Nath’s two-bedroom apartment is shared by seven people, with Chet Nath and his family in the master bedroom, Mona Rath and his family in the second bedroom, and Tek Nath on a twin bed in the living room.  Chet Nath's eldest brother, Khara Nanda, is also in New York, living with his family in his in-laws' apartment.
