SEATTLE, Washington -
For seven weeks this summer, the International Rescue Committee's Newcomer School Readiness Program in Seattle helped newly arrived refugee children and teens prepare for the upcoming school year — their first in the United States. In addition to daily classroom lessons, songs and games, the kids went on field trips to a local fire station and the Seattle Aquarium. Thanks to all the dedicated teachers, interns, community members and students who helped make this year's program one to remember.
