It's back to school. International Rescue Committee offices across the United States are collecting donations of backpacks and school supplies for young refugees — many of whom will be stepping into an American classroom for the first time. For some, it will be their first day of school ever.
San Diego, CA, Silver Spring, MD and Tuscon, AZ are among our offices running backpack drives this year. Urgently needed items include backpacks, calculators, crayons, folders, glue sticks, notebooks, pencils, pencil sharpeners and safety scissors.
