Following record floods in Pakistan in 2010, the IRC provided women with training to become tailors. These women now sew clothing for neighbors in their villages and play an active role in rebuilding their communities. more »

Cavine Akello sells traditional pancakes at a market stall in Kitgum, Uganda. An IRC program for young mothers helped her to save enough to open her business. Since the rebel Lord's Resistance Army was driven from the region, thousands of people have returned from displacement camps to rebuild their communities. more »

As northern Uganda struggles to recover from the long and brutal LRA conflict, the IRC is reintroducing local agricultural traditions to a generation that grew up without them, and teaching older farmers modern methods that can result in more bountiful harvests. more »
