Germaine, a refugee from war-torn Republic of Congo, and her family were resettled by the IRC in Abilene, Texas, in 2007. With the goal of becoming a U.S. citizen, Germaine has enrolled in an IRC citizenship education program, studying English as a second language and American civics. more »

Today is the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. The IRC provides mental health services and other support to help survivors of torture and their families heal and rebuild their lives. more »
