Most Syrian refugees have found homes in apartments in Jordan, but with the recent surge in refugee arrivals, Jordan's government opened its first tent camp on Sunday. The IRC is looking into how we can help in the new camp. more »

I meet Ogla as he’s leaving an IRC clinic in the border town of Ramtha. He’s come for a check up and medication. At only 32, the former chicken farmer from the troubled southern Syrian city of Dera’a has a bad heart. This is the first time since he arrived in January that he’s seen a doctor -- or had his heart medicine. more »

Ahdad, 13 days old, is the tiniest patient receiving treatment at the IRC's medical clinics serving Syrian refugees. The two clinics opened in northern Jordan in mid-June. more »

As the violence intensifies in Syria, civilians are forced to endure the punishing bombings and raids or flee their homes seeking safety across the border. In a recent interview the IRC's Bob Kitchen said, “It’s considered safer in Iraq these days than Syria. That gives you an idea of how bad things are.” more »
