The IRC is preparing for every likely scenario that may arise in the aftermath of the referendum in Southern Sudan. A young girl, as young as thirteen years old, is forced to marry someone. In this case she will not have an opportunity to go to school, and in most intances she is even pulled out of school... to start her new life with someone she doesn't know usually. more »

We were having a meeting and one of the participants noticed a tatoo that I have ... All were like, "Oh, we have a tatoo, too." ... They were calling me their American sister because I'm one of the few American black women that they've met ... I was excited. It was a bonding experience. So, sure, "Can I see your tatoo?" more »
