Carrie Simon, General Counsel
Carrie Simon is the IRC’s general counsel. Prior to joining the IRC in 2001, Ms. Simon served as counsel to Clifford Chance (formerly Rogers & Wells) in Washington, DC, specializing in international regulatory matters, and representing multinational, foreign and U.S. organizations in such matters before the Departments of Justice, State, Commerce and Treasury. Ms. Simon chaired Clifford Chance’s Pro Bono Program in Washington. From 1982 to 1991, she was an associate and partner at Dow, Lohnes & Albertson where she had primary responsibility for administrative litigation in international trade regulation.
Ms. Simon received her B.A. in Political Science and Public Service from the University of California (Davis) and a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law where she was selected for the College’s National Moot Court Team and clerked in the California Supreme Court. Ms. Simon is a member of the New York and Washington, D.C. bars, and is a frequent speaker at law schools, bar associations and legal conferences.
