IRC welcomes U.S. decision to grant temporary protected status to Syrian nationals

The International Rescue Committee commends the Obama Administration’s decision to allow Syrians currently in the United States to remain beyond the expiration of their visas due to worsening violence in their home country.

The Department of Homeland Security announced today that Syrians already in the United States are eligible for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months once they register and pass security checks.
