IRC and Sudanese Activists Call for Peace to be More than a Piece of Paper

The International Rescue Committee joined Sudanese civil society groups and five other international humanitarian aid agencies to address the United Nations Security Council today at a special session in Nairobi discussing Sudan.

The participants delivered a simple message: People in Sudan want peace and they want it now.

At the briefing, Sudanese activist Alfred Lokuji challenged the Security Council to, "put just and comprehensive peace in Sudan as a priority over and above their national interests.”
