IRC Atlanta Participates in Volunteer Emory Run/Walk for Refugees

Volunteer Emory sponsored a 5k Run/Walk for Refugees on March 23, 2002. International Rescue Committee's Atlanta office was represented in full force, about 15 staff members and 5 of the Sudanese Youth (also know as the "Lost Boys of Sudan") participated. David Ahou, one of the Sudanese Youth even won a prize for coming in 12th overall (a $30 gift certificate to Cafe Intermezzo).

The Resource Volunteer Department sponsored a picnic following the race. With donations from Jason's Deli and Dr. Henry Diversi, we were able to provide a hearty picnic for staff of both IRC and Volunteer Emory. Volunteer Emory also awarded IRC Atlanta $1800.
