Uganda Special Report - Unimaginable Suffering

The longstanding civil war in Northern Uganda has shattered livelihoods, destroyed healthcare and schools and instilled a constant state of fear among the population. Over 90% of the rural population of Northern Uganda has been forced into 200 squalid, crowded, and unhealthy refugee camps. Alan Batkin and Jonathan Wiesner, co-chairs of the IRC Board of Directors, recently visited these camps and were stunned by the conditions they found.
