Join the IRC at Two Upcoming Events
Event Title: Among Us (Refugees)
When: March 7, 2010, 5-7 p.m.
Where: The David Brower Center, 2150 Allston Ave, Berkeley
The IRC will be participating in an event raising awareness for the issues facing newly arrived refugees in the Bay Area. Hosted by Mosaic, “Among Us” will be an in-depth look at the barriers refugees face in their first few months in America, and the services that the IRC provides to help families overcome them. In addition to representatives from the IRC, the evening will feature a refugee speaker who has been resettled by the IRC, and who will share his own experience as a refugee in the United States.

Follow Up Event: Walk for Refugees
When: Saturday, March 20, 10 a.m.-12p.m.
Where:Corner of Grand Ave and El Embarcadero at the White Colonnade, Lake Merritt, Oakland
Hike Distance: Approximately 3.5 miles
Cost: $15, all proceeds go to the International Rescue Committee
In conjunction with the event, Mosaic will be hosting a hike at Lake Merritt on March 20th. The hike will cost $15, with all proceeds going to benefit the IRC’s efforts in the Bay Area. Come join Mosaic for a morning outside under the sun while supporting the IRC!
