International Rescue Committee (IRC)

United in Health Fair organized by IRC SLC staff proves to be a success

The International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City hosted the inaugural United in Health Fair in May 2010. It was a great success! The health fair served approximately 189 attendees with 16 booths providing education on a range of health topics and community resources including high blood pressure, dental care, nutrition, stress management, and first safety. Participants had the opportunity to receive hygiene kits as well as enter into a raffle to win prizes ranging from emergency kits to massage and facials. Activities included yoga, a fire safety demonstration, blood pressure readings, hand-washing and more.   It is anticipated that this will be an annual event, so please let IRC staff know if you’re interested in participating next year.
