Bhutanese Association Invites Public to July 4 Cultural Celebration
This Fourth of July weekend, all are invited to attend the cultural celebration that is part of The Association of Bhutanese in America's annual convention. The ABA, as the association is called, is a non-profit organization that works to both facilitate the integration of Bhutanese into the American mainstream and advocate the cause of resettled Bhutanese refugees.
Since 2007, the year when the US government began admitting Bhutanese refugees, more than 27,000 Bhutanese have been resettled to the United States. Over 1,000 of these have been resettled to Georgia.
The three-day convention, which takes place in Clarkston, Georgia, will culminate in a free program of music and dance that the public is cordially invited to attend.
