Refugee Wish List of Items
The IRC ensures that refugees have basic necessities – beds, linens, kitchen table and chairs, cooking utensils and hygiene products – but we rely solely on donations to go beyond the basics to help recently arrived refugee families create their new homes in Central Maryland. Please consider enlisting your friends, relatives and colleagues on a joint fundraising project to support refugee families in their critical first months in the U.S. Below is a refugee wish list of ideas to help refugees rebuild their lives.
- Basic Needs Items: bus passes, international phone cards, English dictionaries, cooking supplies
- For Refugee Children: school supplies, computers, printers
- Appliances: televisions, microwaves, radios, lamps, irons, clocks, phones
- Transportation: bikes, automobiles
- *Furniture: gently used sofas, chairs, dressers, desks, bookshelves, coffee tables
