Refugee Youth Project Honored With Annual Award

The IRC in Baltimore is pleased to announce that the joint Baltimore City Community College-IRC Refugee Youth Program partnership won the Maryland English Language Learner Family Involvement Network’s (MELLFIN) award for being a “model program” that engages families with the school system. The joint partnership focuses on social adjustment support, integration support and academix support for refugee families in Baltimore. It is a comprehensive approach to engaging refugee families with the school system.  Moira Fratantuono and Kursten Pickup (BCCC) and Matthew Schultz (IRC) attended the MELLFIN annual conference on Friday, May 11th to receive the award.
