Save the Date: Annual Night of International Networking
On May 4, 2011, professionals from the Baltimore, refugee and asylee communities are invited to attend this year’s “Night of International Networking.” This special event will provide a venue for exchange between local and foreign-born professionals to learn about each other’s skills, talents, and employment opportunities. Foreign trained engineers, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers and teachers will showcase their skills and get advice from local professionals in a “speed networking” session.
This event is part of Professional Pathways, a Baltimore Resettlement Center partnership project of the IRC, Baltimore City Community College, and Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area. Professional Pathways provides employment services tailored to professionally skilled refugees and asylees seeking to continue their careers in the U.S. Through a series of monthly workshops, professional clients have the opportunity to work closely with education coordinators and employment advocates to ask questions, hear guest speakers, search for jobs, and fine-tune resumes.
