Smiles for Refugee Kids

The IRC in Baltimore’s Health and Youth Programs collaborated with the Smile Program’s mobile dentists to conduct a 2-day dental outreach event to refugee youth on Wednesday, June 29 and Thursday, June 30. As a result, 23 children were provided with a preventative dental exam/screening, cleaning, restorative services, fluoride and toothbrush.

In addition, each child received a report card recommending one of the following actions:
1 = see a dentist in 6 months for a routine check-up
2 = see a dentist soon for follow-up care
3 = see a dentist urgently

IRC case workers are assisting the families to access necessary follow-up and care.
