Realtors Keller Williams and Fred Meyer Leverage Donated Goods from Boise Community for IRC Boise Clients
On Friday, May 11, 2012, IRC Boise received thousands of dollars of donated household and personal care items that we will distribute to our refugee clients. This was through the generosity and goodwill of the Keller Williams Boise real estate offices, who partnered with local Fred Meyer stores in Boise to invite generous customers to add needed items to their carts throughout the day.

Each year nationally, Keller Williams realtors participate in RED Day on the second Friday of every May. RED stands for Renew, Energize and Donate and was started by one of the Keller Williams founders years ago. Local non-profits are chosen as the recipients of donations and this was the first year that the Boise IRC was chosen, along with three other Boise non-profits.
The Fred Meyer store on Chinden Blvd. and Glenwood hosted IRC Boise and Keller Williams. Twelve Keller Williams employees, along with IRC Boise staff, donated their time to educate and inform customers about refugees in Boise. The Friday before Mother’s Day is a huge shopping day and people opened their hearts and wallets for us. It was a wonderful, gratifying experience and we thank Keller William Real Estate, the Chinden Fred Meyer store, and all the generous community members who gave!
