Volunteer Opportunties
IRC Boise has many volunteer opportunities! We have newly arrived refugee families who need mentors to help them integrate into day to day living and culture in Boise. We have multiple classes where we welcome assistant teachers and assistants--employment classes, women's life skills class, citizenship classes and new arrival orientation classes. We always need clerical, reception and finance documentation support. A critical need for IRC Boise currently is assistance to our medical case worker, who schedules regular and emergency medical appointments and coordinates all transportation of our clients to medical appointments.
We can craft a volunteer opportunity to your unique skills, availability and interests: just reach out to us to begin!
IRC Boise takes our responsibility to train and supervise our volunteers very seriously. Once placed in a volunteer position, you will have a clear plan of action and a direct supervisor who will be in regular communication with you as you perform your duties.
We welcome you to attend an IRC Boise volunteer orientation, held every other Thursday at 4:00pm at the IRC Boise office.
Our next orientation meetings will be Thursday, May 10, May 24, June 7, June 21, 2012, 4:00pm. Please call or email to confirm your attendance. To receive an application form send an email to VolunteerBoise@rescue.org.
