Bhutanese Refugees Celebrate Festival of Dasara with the Charlottesville Community.

The Bhutanese community recently celebrated the Hindu Festival of Dasara with delicious food, traditional dancing, religious ceremonies, and blessings for all who attended.  The festival is meant to celebrate women as guardians of the family, and to guide humanity on a path to social justice and equality.  This marked the first occasion that the Bhutanese in Charlottesville were able to celebrate together as an organized community along with their friends.  Enjoy photos from the event on our Flickr site.
