IRC Welcomes New Interns
On August 27th, IRC in Charlottesville welcomed ten University of Virginia University Internship Program (UIP) interns. UIP interns earn academic credit for a combination of study and field work. Each intern spends ten hours per week at their internship site for the entire academic year. The interns are fourth-year students and many are studying foreign affairs. They will assist staff in a variety of capacities, including job readiness and job search activities, volunteer recruitment, community outreach and fundraising, assisting caseworkers with client services, and much more.
This year, IRC in Charlottesville welcomes the following interns to our team: casework assistants Holly Reeder, Chloe deVere, Dan Benckhart and Kathryn Burke; employment assistants Ryan Smith and Jenna Magee; family support assistant Toby Cox; resource development assistants Ayesha Yousuf and Elizabeth Dickinson (pictured above); and immigration assistant Ashley Hutchison.
