New Roots 2011 Breaks Ground

Construction of Charlottesville’s first community garden for refugees is underway.  IRC staff and volunteers from APO, the community service fraternity of the University of Virginia, have begun clearing the land and building a fence for the garden.  Preparation for New Roots will continue over the next few weekends, concluding with a work day on April 16th   in partnership with UVA’s Cavs Care.  Track the progress of New Roots 2011 or to see photos of last year’s project.
