New Roots Flourishes During Summer Growing Season
Things are in full swing at the IRC’s New Roots Community Garden on 4th Street. The garden is cultivated by 12 families who are making the most of their individual plots. Vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers and squash, as well as herbs like basil and cilantro are growing quickly. Soon refugee families will be able to use these crops to supplement their diet. Feel free to swing by and take a look at what grows from a few seeds and lots of hard work, sunshine, and water!
