About Designer Kristina Constantine
Kristina Constantine arrived in Charlottesville as a stateless refugee from Russia to be resettled by the IRC in 2004. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York last spring, and became a U.S. citizen. Kristina has worked with Donna Karan Collection, Shameeza Embroideries, luxury knitwear label TSE, and Calvin Klein. Her goal is to establish a design company that will support the IRC as much as possible. Her latest collection PURE is a set of Virginia lifestyle cocktail fashions created with sustainable and un-dyed fabrics, highlighting the beauty of natural colors, modern accessories, and handmade textures and embroidery.
"The IRC creates success stories by giving refugees a second chance in life. They work tirelessly to change the lives of entire families not only around the world but also in our community here in Charlottesville. The IRC's work is pure relief, pure heroism, pure humanity!" -Kristina Constantine
