Student Shines

Just five years ago Jolie Nyiramahirwe was living in a refugee camp in Burundi, having fled the raging civil war in neighboring Congo. Today she’s working toward an associate of science degree at Piedmont Virginia Community College, and plans to eventually earn a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or nursing. She was featured in the school’s newsletter.
