International Rescue Committee (IRC)

Donate New or Used Items to Refugees in Need

With support from the community, each year the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Dallas and Abilene helps approximately 600 refugees build new lives in the United States. Many have waited years for a place to call home. With your donation of in-kind goods, you can help them acclimate to their new lives in America.

Donations of new or gently used furniture, computers, televisions, bicycles, household linens and other supplies go directly to refugee families in the Dallas and Abilene areas.

Help a refugee family in your community by donating to the IRC. All donations made to the IRC are tax-deductible.

The following are among the priority items needed:

• Computers (laptops and desktops)
• Televisions
• Bicycles
• Diapers
• Digital converters for televisions
• DVD players
• Vacuum cleaners
• CD players
• Coffee tables
• Full/twin size bed sheets
• Blankets
• Towels
• School supplies
• Pots and pans

All items must be in good condition and in working order, as the IRC cannot make repairs to broken or damaged items.
