International Rescue Committee (IRC)

Rebuilding Lives

Every month, the IRC welcomes refugees from countries such as Bhutan, Congo, Eritrea and Iraq to build new lives in Dallas and Abilene, Texas. They arrive from overcrowded camps and life threatening zones around the world. Many have waited for years for a place to call home.

The IRC would like your help in welcoming refugees.  You, your family, friends and/or colleagues can donate new or gently used items needed for families arriving in Dallas and Abilene.

The “Top Ten” Donations

You can offer a warm welcome to refugees in our community by generously donating any or all of these items.  Through your support we’ll be able to provide the Top 10 items to each newly arriving refugee throughout the year. These essential household items will help ease the transition for families and give them the tools they need to become self-reliance.

The following is a list of key items that help refugees. All donations to IRC are tax deductible.
