Employer Spotlight: Marshalls

It’s important for the IRC in Miami to partner with others who share a common vision and goal with our organization. An example of this is the relationship that the IRC in Miami has fostered with Marshalls stores in South Florida. In the Doral store, located in Dolphin Mall, fourteen refugees have not only been hired, but also provided with training and tools to succeed in the American job market.

The collaboration of the IRC and Marshalls was further developed with the recent visit of senior IRC leadership to this store when John Keys, IRC Senior VP, and Kay Bellor, VP of US Programs, were taken on a tour of the Doral facilities.  The IRC has also extended an invitation for Elena Escobar, Store and Operations Manager of Marshalls and colleagues to visit the IRC in Miami.  

Partnerships such as this allow refugees to earn a living wage while advancing their employment goals and easing their acculturation in America. Thank you Marshalls, for helping refugees on the journey from harm to home!
