Have you ever considered volunteering your time in assisting newly arrived refugee families begin their new lives in New York City? No matter the task, it is guaranteed to change your life! The IRC in New York offers a variety of volunteer opportunities such as:
- Helping refugees acclimate to their new surroundings by teaching them how to open a bank account or escorting them to the grocery store
- Welcoming visitors to the office and helping them practice their English or fill out a job application form
- Helping with interpretation in languages such as Arabic, Burmese, French, Nepali or Spanish
