Finding Peace Through New Roots

IRC’s New Roots community farm initiative enables newly arrived refugees to reestablish their ties to the land, celebrate their heritage and plant strong roots—literally—in their new communities. In New York, IRC’s New Roots program is allowing refugees and community members to find peace and grow fresh produce in an area often referred to as a food desert.
