Amir Music Receives his Sarlo Foundation Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Service
Amir Music, recently promoted to Senior Coordinator for Immigration Services in Northern California, was presented with the Sarlo Foundation Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Service on October 25th, 2011. Amir, one of five recipients, was honored during a ceremony and reception at IRC headquarters in New York and then at an awards-presentation dinner in San Francisco. In addition, each winner designated an IRC program to be awarded a grant of $2,500. Annually since 2001, the IRC has recognized outstanding members of the International and US Programs field staff by presenting them with this award.
Amir's recent promotion reflects a commitment by the IRC in Northern California to strengthen, expand, and streamline immigration services to refugees and asylees in Northern California. In paticular, achieving citizenship is a vehicle for the education and integration of immigrants and helps strengthen the communities in which the men, women, and children that IRC serves live.
Congratulations Amir! We are grateful for your dedication, service and all you continue to do to further the work of the IRC in Northern California.
