A Group of Hopeful Immigrants Are on Their Path to Citizenship

The IRC in San Jose and other Santa Clara County immigrant service providers hosted a landmark group processing event to help low-income individuals apply for naturalization on February 28th, 2013. The event drew over 1,800 people, and volunteers and collaborative staff provided orientation and direct application assistance to over 450 people. The collaborative will continue to host these events as part of the New Americans Campaign to encourage eligible immigrants to fully join their communities and become U.S. citizens.

The IRC has recently partnered up with the New Americans Campaign, a coalition of immigration organizations from across the country, in order to help legally permanent residents become American citizens.
