San Jose Office Recruiting Volunteers
The IRC San Jose has been providing comprehensive resettlement services to newly arrived refugees since it opened in 1979. IRC San Jose is one of the four offices that currently comprise the IRC in Northern California. The caseload is predominantly comprised of refugees from Iraq, Eritrea, Iran and Somalia. In addition to resettlement services provided under the Reception & Placement program, the IRC San Jose office provides employment and vocational English as a Second Language services to refugees through the Matching Grant program and a program funded by the County of Santa Clara. The office also provides comprehensive immigration assistance, including citizenship services. The office assists refugees with income tax preparation annually during tax season.
