Cribs Needed for New Babies

IRC’s Pre and Post Natal Program is reducing many barriers faced by refugee mothers when accessing prenatal care, offering a culturally appropriate bridge between service provision and expectant mothers. However, tight budgets are still keeping these mothers and newborns at risk. Current sleeping arrangements for many new babies pose a great concern to service providers and mothers. Cribs are often out of the question on a refugee’s budget, so the IRC and St. Joseph’s Hospital is turning to the Phoenix community to help these new families start out on the right foot.

New or gently used baby cribs, Pack and Plays and baby bedding are currently being accepted at the IRC office. For more information or to make a donation, please contact Rachel Aherin, Development Associate, at 602.433.2440 ext. 231 or rachel.aherin@theIRC.org.
