Help deliver smiles this holiday season
Are you looking for a fun service project for the family over the holidays? The IRC is looking for helping hands and giving hearts this holiday season – come join the fun! Help the IRC bring smiles to refugee families by volunteering with our Adopt a Family Program.
The following volunteer opportunities are available:
Gift Sorting and Wrapping
Time: Thursday, December 13th 5pm-9pm
Friday, December 14th 5pm-9pm
Number of volunteers: We welcome individuals or groups of up to 20 at one time for this activity.
Description: Volunteers will work with IRC staff to sort and catalogue gifts received from Adopt-a-Family sponsors before gift-wrapping and preparing items for delivery. Seasonal tunes and snacks make this a fun team activity!
Delivery Day Volunteers
Time: Saturday, December 15th 7am-11am
Saturday, December 15th 1pm-5pm
Number of volunteers: We welcome individuals or groups of up to 15 at one time for this activity.
Description: Volunteers work in small groups to deliver gifts directly to refugee families, and attend a 30 min session before being transported to delivery sites.
Don’t forget that you can also adopt a family. By adopting a refugee family, you have the opportunity to help make them feel welcomed into our community. You’ll give parents a chance to give gifts to their children and receive a gift themselves. You’ll receive a packet of information about a specific refugee family, including their wish list.
Please help us spread the word to your co-workers, friends, family members, church groups, book clubs – everyone - about this great idea for holiday giving.
If you would like to adopt a family or volunteer for this event, please contact Jackie Nolot, In-Kind Coordinator at jackie.nolot@rescue.org or (602) 433-2440 ext. 175.
