IRC Phoenix Staff Member Receives 40 Hispanics Under 40 Award
Katie Resendiz, ALERT Anti-Trafficking Supervisor in the Phoenix office was awarded the 40 Hispanics Under 40 Award sponsored by Univision Radio - Phoenix and Chicanos Por La Causa. The award recognizes committed individuals that are working toward the greater good of the community. Recipients of this prestigious recognition were nominated and selected based on their commitment to the community through leadership and represent corporate, government, non-profit and arts & culture sectors across Arizona.
Over the past years, Katie has provided strong leadership to the IRC’s ALERT program. ALERT is an immediate support system for victims of human trafficking, helping them get back on their feet and reclaim their lives. With emergency case management, ALERT provides food and shelter for victims and their families, medical attention, mental health counseling, legal assistance, employment placement, and more. ALERT provides trainings to local community partners and staffs the Arizona state-wide anti-trafficking hotline, 1.888.60.ALERT.
Katie has been instrumental in raising awareness of human trafficking throughout the valley and has provided life saving services to ALERT enrollees. The IRC is proud to have such a dedicated individual on staff and see her work recognized in the community. Congratulations to Katie.
