Millions Raised for Disaster Relief in Haiti

In just over two weeks, the IRC has raised almost $4 million for its emergency response effort in Haiti, and it is not too late to contribute to relief efforts. In addition to texting HAITI to 25383 to donate $5, supporters can now install IRC’s very first Mobile Giving Widget on their Facebook profile. This widget allows anyone to simply enter his or her mobile telephone number to give. Click here to get started, and encourage your friends and family to check out this public service announcement, created and donated by the McCann advertising agency.

For those who wish to do more than make a donation to the IRC, we are encouraging DIY (Do-It-Yourself) fundraising for Haiti. Haiti-specific information and materials can now be downloaded as part of this initiative, including a one-page summary of the IRC’s work in Haiti, banner ads for posting on websites and blogs, as well as printable “How You Can Help Rescue Lives in Haiti” postcards.
