Volunteer Appreciation Event a Success
IRC Phoenix office held a Volunteer Appreciation Event on September 27th at our office, which was attended by 50 volunteers in addition to IRC staff. This past year, volunteers have served IRC in many capacities, from registering children in school to mentoring refugee families, from teaching clients to navigate the financial system to creating office security plans, from setting up computer labs to advocating on behalf of victims of human trafficking. The efforts of these volunteers have tremendously supported our efforts to assist these new Americans in their journey from harm to home.
We are grateful for all volunteers who donate their time to our cause. Several volunteers were recognized for their outstanding efforts:
• Ali Al-Asady – Longest Term Volunteer (Financial Literacy Volunteer)
• Karin Witnauer – Intern & Volunteer (ALERT)
• Cindy Karnaze – IRC Intern (Microenterprise Program Intern)
• Elizabeth David – Outstanding Office Volunteer (Pre-Natal and Friday Mixer Volunteer)
• Aysar Add Jaber, Maher Abdulghani and Family – Outstanding Client Volunteers
• Sarah Cory & Jamie Hunt – Outstanding American Friends
• Brian Yunt – Outstanding Case Management Intern
• Lori & Chris Lause – Overall Outstanding Volunteers
