June is Utah Refugee Month

The month of June is Utah Refugee Month. The Utah Refugee Coalition, along with their partners in the community, has planned a month long celebration filled with activities to recognize the large population of refugees we have in Utah. These activities are aimed to educate the public on the journey of a refugee from their home country to their new home here in our state. There are small activities such as panel discussions and film screenings to be held on multiple nights throughout the month. Check these out, and don’t miss the larger events like the annual World Refugee Day Festival to be held on June 16th and the 5k Run for Refugees on June 23rd. Not only do we wish to educate the public and raise awareness through these events, but also to celebrate the cultural diversity that refugees bring to Utah. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to participate in one of the many events being held throughout the month.
