Bike to Work

After the bicycle safety training held at the IRC office on September 1st, many refugees received a refurbished bicycle.  The bikes were donated in August during IRC’s bicycle drive.

One bike recipient was Riziki, a refugee from Congo who arrived to San Diego in 2010. 

Riziki used to walk an hour to and from work each day, leaving her with little time for anything else.  Having a bike has significantly reduced her commute time and allows her to spend more time with her 6 children.
