First Things First Preschool Exchange
On February 9th, the toddlers of the IRC First Things First Preschool took a field trip to meet with their counterparts at the La Jolla United Methodist Preschool. The children played games, ate lunch, and ran around the playground together. This is the fourth time the children from the two schools have gotten together - twice the La Jolla children came to the IRC program and twice the IRC children have gone to La Jolla.
The First Things First Family Learning Center and the La Jolla United Methodist Preschool have been partners for over five years. The La Jolla preschool has provided gently used clothing and toys for the IRC program.
At First Things First, adults learn English, literacy, and life skills while their young children are prepared for kindergarten. The IRC First Things First Family Learning Center started in 1995 and now has the highest attendance of adults and children. Most of the current participants are from Burma.
