Get in the Holiday Spirit: Adopt a Refugee Family (Program Now Closed)

UPDATE:  Thanks to the generosity of the San Diego community,  the 45 refugee families have been adopted for the holidays. Thank you San Diego!
 
Get in the holiday spirit by participating in IRC San Diego’s second annual Adopt-a-Family holiday gift drive!

Many of our families come here with only the clothes on their back, and their children have never owned a new toy or pair of shoes.  We are hoping to collect gifts for 45 refugee families, so we would love your help!  This is a great project for individuals or groups.  If you would like to get involved but cannot adopt a whole family, you may adopt a child instead.

The family wish list includes:
 
One large cooking pot
One large, warm blanket
One pair of tennis shoes for each family member (we will give you the sizes)
One toy or game for each child/youth
 
Wrapping the gifts is optional; however, many of the family members have also never unwrapped presents before and would enjoy doing so.
