Going Back to the Land - Somali Farmers in San Diego
The IRC's Refugee Entrepreneurial Agriculture Program (REAP) was featured in the Sunday edition of the San Diego Union Tribune. REAP is helping refugees with agrarian backgrounds to become farmers again. The program stems from the IRC's New Roots Community Farm and a partnership with the Tierra Miguel Foundation in Pauma Valley. 19 refugees from Somali are participating in the program and utilizing 5 acres of Tierra Miguel's land.
