IRC Farmers Make Record Sales
IRC famers from the New Roots Community Farm sold over $1,000 worth of produce last week at the City Heights Farmers’ Market. This is the highest amount earned in one week since they began selling at the market in January.
Eight farmers harvest their crops on Friday and arrive at the market bright and early Saturday morning to display their produce. The farmers/sellers speak 12 languages and sell a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and seedlings.
The City Heights Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 9am to 1pm at the Fairmount Ave and Wightman Street (one block south of University).
